Troubleshooting
It will not start, the import looks wrong, a formula stays empty, export stops at 1,000 rows, AI throws an error — and how to describe a problem so we can fix it.
- 1. It will not startNothing happens when you double-click, it sticks on the splash screen, or it says it failed to start — almost always something on this machine blocking the data engine. Three causes to check, then the logs.
- 2. The import looks wrongA whole column empty, numbers as text, dates as text, the header row inside the data, blank rows, the wrong row count — find the symptom, get the cause. The full version is in the import chapter; this is the quick lookup.
- 3. A formula does not compute, or stays emptyA formula column with no values, some rows empty, an obviously wrong result, or nothing changing when the source data does — the order to check things in, from "still computing" to "the keys don't match".
- 4. The export stopped at 1,000 rowsA free license exports the first 1,000 rows of each table to Excel or CSV. That is the plan boundary, not a fault. Three ways round it — the free full backup, a paid license, or exporting less.
- 5. AI errorsAI unavailable, an error, an empty answer — check the paywall first, then the key and the endpoint, then your provider's balance and your network, and finally the Credit -1 bug in older builds.
