The desktop app runs AI on your own API key. Chat that builds a table, suggestions inside the panels, one-sentence formulas, per-row AI functions — and exactly what each of them sends out.

1. Bring your own API keyTableDI's AI features run on your own model account. Paste a key under Desktop settings → AI, optionally an endpoint and a model, and the engine restarts to pick it up. You pay the provider directly — we never see the key or take a cut.
2. Ask AI: build a comparison table by chattingThe Ask AI page on Tools is a chat: describe what you want compared or collected, upload PDFs, spreadsheets or CSVs, or let it search — and the answer lands in your workspace as a real table.
3. AI suggestions in the panels, and AI-written formulasThe Ask AI button at the top of the Summarize, Match and Split panels picks the grouping, the key and the conditions for you. The formula editor turns one sentence into a formula. Both produce ordinary configuration you can read and change.
4. AI and web functions (paid)Call a model or the network from inside a formula — generate or classify row by row, crawl a page, search, read a file, hit an API. One call per row; the result is an ordinary formula column. Paid feature, billed by your provider.
5. Privacy: what leaves your computer when you use AIWithout AI, nothing leaves. With it, that one request goes from your computer straight to the provider you configured — your question, the relevant column names and a few sample rows, or the image itself. This page says exactly what each entry point sends.
