Accounts, instances and workspaces
How the team edition is organised — email registration and sign-in, one subscription per instance, and workspaces inside an instance as the boundary for data and permissions.
The team edition is a hosted service operated for the Chinese market; its console is in Chinese. The desktop app this site sells needs none of this — it has no account at all.

Registering and signing in
- Register from the sign-in page: region, email, a verification code, a password. The email address is the account.
- Sign in with that address and password.
- Forgotten password sends a code to the address and lets you set a new one.
Signing in lands you in the default workspace of your instance.
The instance
One subscription is one instance. It carries a plan (free, personal VIP, team, business), a member cap, a storage cap and a cap on the number of connections. An instance administrator can upgrade the tier, upgrade the capacity or renew from the instance settings. When a cap is reached the relevant feature says so and offers the upgrade page.
Workspaces
An instance can hold several workspaces, each an independent set of tables, dashboards, projects and members — usually split by department or by line of business. The workspace name at the top of the sidebar switches between them, and workspace management offers:
- Adding a workspace, by name.
- A list showing each workspace's name, memory use and headcount.
- Editing, member management, setting the default workspace, and deleting.
The free and personal tiers have a single workspace; several workspaces is a business-tier capability and up.
Instance-level members
Instance member management controls who can sign in to the instance at all:
- Add a member: account, password, confirmation, display name. They join the default workspace automatically.
- Each member is an administrator or an ordinary user. Administrators manage the instance, its workspaces and its members.
- Passwords can be reset, and members removed.
The role you hold inside a workspace — editor, viewer, user — is a separate layer. See Members, roles and project permissions.
The workspace drawer
The workspace avatar at the top left opens a drawer listing the current instance, every workspace and an option to add one, with account details, language, password reset and sign-out at the bottom. In the browser the drawer also offers Move to the desktop app, which packs everything on your account into a .tdbk — see Moving from the cloud edition. In the desktop app that entry is Desktop settings instead.
