What ran, and what it produced

Every period a job runs stays on record. The job's Run log tab lists each period with its state, when it ran, how long it took, the difference, the rules version and when it was delivered — for every job, free. The History tab, in the lifetime version, goes further: every period's rows in one table you can filter by period, other side, status or a search; Six periods of this number, which shows how any cell of the result moved; and Back to last period's result on the Overview. History never rewrites an old period: changing the rules makes a new version, and each period keeps the version it ran with.
The run log
The Run log tab has one row per period: Period, State, Run at, Took, Difference (rows and amount), Rules (the version), Who and Delivered. A shorter version of the same list sits on the right of the job's Overview.
It answers the everyday questions: was September delivered, which rules version did August run with, how big was the difference in July.
The History tab (lifetime version)
At the top, four tiles: Periods (from and to), Rows so far, Matched, and Never matched, with how many are still to confirm.
Below them are filters — Period, Other side, Status, and a search for a key, other side or amount — and the table: Period, Row, Key, Other side, Amount, Status, Rules, From and Who, 500 rows to a page, newest period first. Every row remembers which period, which file, which rules version and who ran it.
The Other side and Amount columns come from the job's own rules: the first column its Summary step groups by, and the amount its Difference step compares.
In the free version, the History tab shows the lifetime card.
Only this period?
A job keeps every row of every period only for periods that went in with Add to history on the preflight. If a job has always run as This period only — as the first period of a new job does — the History tab says This job keeps only the current period and shows one summary per period. To keep every row from now on, choose Add to history on the preflight next time.
Six periods of this number
On the Overview, click any cell of the result. The History tab opens with Six periods of this number on the right: that cell's value in each of the last six periods, with the rules version each period used. Open those rows takes you to the rows behind it.
It's the quickest answer to "why is this customer's total different from last month": you see which period moved, and whether the rules changed at the same time.
Back to last period's result (lifetime version)
On the Overview, the run log panel has Back to last period's result. It makes the job show the previous period's result again. Nothing is deleted: the period you step back from stays in the run log.
What never changes
- Changing the rules doesn't rewrite an old period; it makes a new version, and each period keeps the version it ran with.
- Delivered files stay as they were.
- With Add to history, each period's rows are added on top of the last, and older rows aren't touched.
Where it's kept
A job's periods, results and rules are kept in TableDI 2's data on your Mac, and a backup (.tdbk2) takes all of it along; see Your license and your backups. Deleted jobs, periods and sources stay in the Recycle bin for 30 days, and Restore brings them back.
